The Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Defence participated in the Mediation and Security Council to discuss the joint decision of Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger to depart the bloc on Thursday in Abuja. ECOWAS Commission President Omar Alieu Touray urged ECOWAS Members to 'stay together' and 'remain united' as the only way to overcome the challenges the bloc facing.
