3000CEANHILL's video: BLK BOY - Short Film

‘BLK BOY’ is a short conceptual visual created by Donnie Sunshine & Jazz Brown as a response to the tragic yet ever so familiar disregard for black lives. The narrative follows a stylised depiction of the murders of Ahmaud Albery & George Floyd, followed by actions taken by their community through protest which is juxtaposed with a Black Panther member preparing to march. The latter part of the visual shows varied representations of black boys/men showing that we are multifaceted. The film is closed with a memorial of images and names of victims taken through police brutality, white supremacy, homophobia, transphobia, bigotry & abuse, with inserts of Martin Luther King Jr’s ‘I have a dream’ speech as well as a speech of him addressing police brutality playing in the background. We hope that this piece empowers our black community, showing that there are a number of ways that we can protest whilst inspiring more people to utilise their talents, skills, & voices to help bring about change.
