𝟑𝐃𝐄𝐋𝐓𝐀𝟕's video: 1984 Corvette My Spark Plug GAP 045 Crossfires are WET with fuel

@1984 Corvette My Spark Plug GAP .045 (Crossfires are WET with fuel))
When GM came out with the HEI Distributors, they were so powerful they allowed for a wider gap on the plug., capable of arcing a plug gaped at .045 and even as wide as .055. With the Crossfire Injection engine being a wet manifold, with those huge injectors, the .045 gap burned off that excess gas, VERY QUICKLY. Then with the excessively lean gasoline being sold at the pump, consumers complained of excessive exhaust fumes. So GM changed the gap to .035, which reduced emissions but did nothing for performance. By the time this all got sorted out, the new TPI 1985 corvette was rolling off the assembly line and GM was done with the Crossfire forever. In conclusion, for OPTIMAL performance on start up when the engine is cold......045 is the most optimal GAP for the Crossfire Injection Engine. IMO This video is for reference only, work at your own risk, MY 1984 Crossfire runs best with a GAP of .045. The car will run with a GAP of .035, however the fuel burn off when cold will be very LONG, so the car MAY run poorly until closed loop.
