@GERRARD V SCHOLES, SALAH V ROONEY: ALL-TIME MAN UNITED V LIVERPOOL XI | The Eye Test | 888sport
Since filming, Liverpool v Manchester United has been rearranged for later in April... our panel looked at one of the fiercest rivalries in English football and tried to pick an all-time combined XI from the two sides... and it caused plenty of debate. Host and Liverpool supporter Ade Oladipo battles with Man United follower Flex from @United View and Man City neutral Steven McInerney @Esteemed Kompany - A Man City Fan Channel discuss who would make an all-time XI from these teams, as well as what a current XI would look like. In an all-time greatest combined XI, the left-back battle is between Denis Irwin and Andy Robertson, whereas at centre-back Rio Ferdinand, Virgil van Dijk, Gary Pallister, Steve Bruce, and Jaap Stam compete for two spots. Trent Alexander-Arnold has become a phenomenon but it's up to our panel as to whether the right-back gets into the all-time greatest XI. Roy Keane’s leadership paired with the skill and energy of Paul Scholes and Steven Gerrard sounds like the perfect selection, but is there anyone else who could fit in? Cristiano Ronaldo in his prime was an undoubtable selection, but the real battle came between choosing between Liverpool legend Luis Suarez and the fear factor of Wayne Rooney. Does Best FIFA Men’s Player Mohamed Salah get in to an all-time combined XI? Although De Gea has come back into form this season and Alisson Becker’s distribution is unquestionable but can either compete with Man Utd club legends Van der Sar and Peter Schmeichel? Looking at the current day, Bruno Fernandes was our panels trickiest choice. Although he’s a talented player and helped drag United to a top 4 position last season, his chances of getting into a Klopp side is slim. Would any Man Utd players break into the current Liverpool squad? Who do you disagree with in the all-time XI? Have our panel picked the best possible midfield?
