Hamburg-based Oliver has been a welcome addition to the Germany house community for more than a decade now. After his latest album, Paradigm, and a collaboration with Jan Blomqvist in the summer of 2020, new original music will be out in January 2021 on Gorge’s and Nick Curly’s 8 Bit imprint. Opening with the title track, ‘Monza’, a stab-led groove evolves organically adding nuanced layers and a rubbery bass. Warm and inviting, the piano in the first break creates a welcomed tension against the muted vocal ad libs. On the flipside, ‘Levo’ begins with more low end grunt. Melodics develop with time and form the main groove hypnotising the listener before chord sweeps and whispered vocals add warmth and musical depth.
