First women IAS officer in Independent India: Isha Basant Joshi Anna Rajam Malhotra, a 1951 batch IAS officer was the first lady to be in Indian Administrative Service. 2. Sarojini Naidu: was the first female to become the governor of an Indian state. She governed Uttar Pradesh from 15 August 1947 to 2 March 1949. 3. Pratibha Devisingh Patil is an Indian politician who served as the 12th President of India from 2007 to 2012. A member of the Indian National Congress, Patil is the only woman to hold the office. 4. 1st Indian Women to join NASA/ women astronaut to land on moon (in Space (NASA) Kalpana Chawla was an American astronaut and the first woman of Indian origin in space. She first flew on Space Shuttle Columbia in 1997 as a mission specialist and primary robotic arm operator but unfortunately she died on 1/2/2003. 5. Chhavi Rajawat - One of India’s youngest sarpanches. the MBA graduate quit her corporate career with one of the country’s biggest telecom firms to become the sarpanch. 6. Mithali Raj was the first woman to score a double hundred in Test Cricket 7. 1st Indian woman pilot to fly a fighter jet : Avani Chaturvedi 24-year-old Avani Chaturvedi flew MiG-21 Bison for 30 minutes in Gujarat's Jamnagar airbase and scripted history by becoming the first Indian woman fighter pilot to do so. 8. 1st indian women to climb mount Everest: Arunima Sinha : . She is also the first Indian amputee to climb the Everest. She was a national level volleyball player who was pushed from a running train by thieves in 2011 as she was resisting them. After meeting this accident, one of her legs had to be amputated below the knee. 9. 1st Indian female wrestler : Geeta Phogat :Is a freestyle wrestler who won India's first ever gold medal inwrestling at the Commonwealth Games in 2010. She is also the first Indian female wrestler to have qualified for the Olympic Summer Games. 10. 1st Indian woman boxer to win an Olympic medal in boxing : India's Mary Kom is a five-time World Amateur Boxing champion, and the only woman boxer to have won a medal in each one of the six world championships. She also became the first Indian woman boxer to get a Gold Medal at the Asian Games during the 2014 Asian Games at Incheon, South Korea. 11. The first Indian woman to receive a medal in the Olympics for Badminton: Saina Nehwal: She is the first Indian to win the World Junior Badminton Championships and was also the first Indian to win a Super Series tournament.
