Nickel Plate Road 765: The Indiana Rail Experience Recorded on 7/8/22-7/9/22 It’s been a few years since our last encounter with Nickel Plate Road 765. On the weekend of July 8-9 of 2022, it was time for another meetup with the mighty Berkshire. In this video, we’ll see Nickel Plate Road 765 lead the Indiana Ice Cream Train and the Wine, Whiskey, and Spirits Train on the Indiana Northeastern Railroad. On the Ice Cream Train trips, 765 would alternate between traveling north to Fremont and then traveling south to Pleasant Lake. Since the train wouldn’t be traveling far inbetween, it would make it overwhelmingly possible to leapfrog the train during each trip. Plus, see exclusive footage of Nickel Plate Road 765 making a short trip to Hudson, Indiana for coal. Between recording the train on Friday, July 8 and Saturday, July 9, everything worked out really well. This trip goes to show that we will be back in Northeast Indiana in the near future!
