Companies that engage in prohibited products or elements such as gambling, Insurance, alcohol, haram meat, tobacco, etc. are not permissible. Further, borrowing money or using leverage to invest in stocks is not allowed in Islam. Islamic scholars stress the importance of investing in ethical and Shariah-compliant companies.
