In addition, maysir can be a form of theft, as it relies on the loss of others in order to generate profits. For these reasons, many Muslims choose to avoid maysir altogether. However, there are some who argue that maysir can be permissible under certain circumstances, such as if the gambler has the intention of helping others or if the game is played with no stakes. Ultimately, the decision whether to participate in maysir rests with each individual Muslim.
