AKC Obedience & Rally's video: Open A B - Classic Demo - Command Discrimination 1

Disclaimer: This video is raw footage of the demo at the 2017 Classic. There are portions of this video during which the commentary may not be in sync with the performance. Effective May 1, 2018, this exercise will be performed in the Open A, Open B and Preferred classes. This new exercise, in addition to the Stay - Get Your Leash Exercise, will replace the current Open Group Exercises. Open 1-Command Discrimination (Stand, Down, Sit). The principal features of this exercise are the dog's correct response to the handler's command and/or signals and that the dog stays until the handler returns to heel position. In this sequence, the judge will give the first order to "Stand your dog," followed by "Leave your dog." The handler will walk forward 15 feet, turn and face the dog. (The 15'marks are on the adjacent ring gate.) The judge will signal the handler to down the dog, and then order "Leave your dog." The handler will walk forward another 15 feet, turn, and face the dog. The judge will signal the handler to sit the dog and then order "Back to your dog." The handler may use both voice and signals for each position change and each stay command. The exercise in this video is performed correctly, (no deductions).
