Alternating bound into a sprint. Is an advanced drill that encourages athletes to apply the principles of force application from the bound right into the sprint. the athlete is to remain in an upright position with their body through the bounding and into the transition of the sprint. This is a reinforcement of Max Velocity mechanics where both horizontal and vertical forces are Being applied into the ground as the athlete remains in an upright position. This is also a great drill to establish force application patterns and teach an athlete how to strike and interact with the ground properly. Some cues that may help are. -stay upright. -put the foot down. -swing your knee up. -think about going both up and out! -don’t crash on the ground -yet stay aggressive with the intention of the contact on the ground. Be safe and have a go.
