Leo was always talented growing up. He was inspired to start acting once he saw his cousin in a commercial. In the late 80's he starred in many commercials until he got a role in a tv show growing pains. Leo's first role in a movie was in This Boy's life. He acted along with Robert DeNiro. He beat 100 other kids for the role because he made a dramatic impression during his audition. The movie was about Toby and his mother moving in with her new boyfriend Dwight who turns out to be abusive. In 1997 Leonardo DiCaprio starred in the hit movie titanic. He played Jack Dawson, a poor and talented artist who falls in love with a rich girl on the ship titanic. This is was made Leo internationally famous and he became an A list actor. Leonardo DiCaprio has starred in many movies that were directed by Martin Scorsese. The first film that they worked on together was Gangs of New York. They had a great time working together and they also worked on other films such as Inception, The Departed, The Wolf of Wall Street, Shutter Island, and The Aviator. Leonardo DiCaprio had been nominated for an oscar 6 times. His first time was when he was 19 in 1993 for best male actor in What's Eating Gilbert Grape. In 2015 Leo was nominated for best male actor in The Revenant. He ended up winning the oscar which was one of his greatest accomplishments. The Revenant was Leonardo DiCaprio's most recent movie. The Revenant is about a man called Hugh Glass trying to find and rejoin his tribe while getting justice for his son. He was very committed to this role and has done things that he wouldn't normally do like eat a raw cattle liver. Not only is Leo an actor but he is also an environmentalist.
