Odin Sphere Leifthrasir is my favorite game of all time. The remake, NOT the original PS2 release. The PS2 version did grab my attention when it came out 13 years ago but I never got a chance to play it because that attention diverted to games like God of War II. And I haven't looked back at Odin Sphere ever since. Fast forward to 2011 when I got hyped seeing Dragon's Crown in gaming magazines and wanting to play it because I'm a beat-em-up fan and its similarities to D&D: Shadow Over Mystara. I eventually played it in 2015 and all expectations were exceeded. Played the crap out of it until I got the Platinum trophy. Come 2017 and I rent Odin Sphere Leifthrasir from Game Fly. Holy shit my expectations shot through the roof with this one because it's another masterpiece from Vanillaware, but much better than Dragon's Crown with its deeper combat mechanics, and each character having fighting game movesets at their disposal like Guardian Heroes on the Sega Saturn. I love this game, not because it's an RPG with a well-crafted story and fleshed-out characters. I love this game because it's really, really fun to play. Is it repetitive? Yes, but the 5 playable characters bring something new to the table that prevents the experience from getting stale. November of that same year. I upgraded to PS4 in 2018 and I've been longing to play this game again. This game DESERVES to be played on my channel.
