ANI Bharat's video: ARI Sentient Labs develop technology to generate hydrogen from agriculture residue

Pune (Maharashtra), Aug 17 (ANI): Agharkar Research Institute (ARI), Pune along with Sentient Labs has developed a technology that generates hydrogen from agricultural residue. It can be later used as fuel. Claimed to be the first such technology in the world, the scientists who worked on this project say this will emerge as an excellent solution for agriculture waste disposal process in India. It will be helpful for Delhi, Haryana and Punjab states which are highly affected by pollution every year due to stubble burning. Speaking to ANI Ravi Pandit, Chairman, Sentient Labs said, “This technology will not only help India in agriculture waste disposal but it will also produce an income for farmers by selling this waste who usually end up burning it by getting nothing in return”. Dr Prashant Dhakephalkar, Director of Agharkar Research Institute said, “We are expecting this technology to be on ground in around 24 months. Currently, there are some technologies being used in India for the degradation of agriculture waste but that generates mythane and ultimately adds into pollution. Farmers instead of going with any of this process end up burning the waste which generates pollution.
