APAP's video: APAP NYC 2024: Are the Arts Essential

@APAP|NYC 2024: Are the Arts Essential?
While we arts professionals all know the answer is unequivocally "Yes!", too many people outside the performing arts don't feel the same urgency. In this session, well-tested arts professionals will talk about what they do and how they make meaning in their work, citing their experiences in journalism, philanthropy, music, education, and dance. Schooled by that experience, they will detail and defend the wide impact of the arts---from social justice to science, from building community to building cities, from sharing our histories to sharing the news. Expect humility, humour, and a high regard for what APAP members do to contribute to the essentiality of the arts, as well as a dose of inspiration for your own case-making. Moderator: Bill Goldstein, Writer and Founding Editor, NYTimes Books Panelists: Eizabeth Streb, Founder/Co-Artistic Director, STREB, Inc. Jesse Rosen Zeyba Rahman, Director, Building Bridges Program, Doris Duke Foundation Mary Schmidt Campbell This video was recorded at the APAP|NYC 2024 Conference (January 12-16, 2024) in New York City.
