This revolt started on 10th May 1857 when the soldiers of Meerut military company refused to obey the orders of the army. During this rebellion, the name of 29-year-old Mangal Pandey came to the fore. Even before this, even though there were some strange reports of clashes with the British in some places, but this revolt had a large impact on the Indian people and this matter was deeply felt in the minds of the people that the very powerful British rulers can be ignored.
