Rose Foden was named England Programmes Open Water Athlete of the Year at the ASA Aquatics Awards 2016. Rose is a committed open water swimmer and a valuable member of the England Programmes Open Water Programme. Since joining, Rose has progressed considerably in her racing skills and tactics, and is now someone other athletes in the programme look to for advice and help. In 2016 Rose qualified for the World Junior Open Water Championships and competed in both the individual and relay events, placing 13th and 10th respectively. Back in the UK, Rose took silver at the ASA National Open Water Festival and finished fifth in the Elite Race at the Swim Serpentine event. In September Rose went on to compete at the European Junior Open Water Championships, placing 14th individually and seventh with the relay team.
