ASA's video: Katie Yallop wins Disability Achievement of the Year ASA Aquatics Awards 2016

@Katie Yallop wins Disability Achievement of the Year | ASA Aquatics Awards 2016
Katie Yallop collected the ASA Achievement Award: Disability Participant at the ASA Aquatics Awards 2016. Katie has Spondeloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita leading to short stature and respiratory problems. Aged two she had a spinal cord infraction which left her with limited movement in her neck, and she is paralysed from the ribcage down. Aged nine Katie joined Colchester Phoenix and her swimming has gone from strength to strength. In April, she swam 5m with a fin. A month later, swimming unaided, Katie swam 10m while holding her breath. To help Katie swim, further a front facing snorkel was used so she could breathe while swimming independently. Katie soon mastered the snorkel and has gone on to swim 25m and then 50m in July.
