ફાગણ મહિનાની શરૂઆત સાથે જ મહોરી ઉઠતો કેસૂડો (ખાખરો) કુદરતની લાજવાબ દેન છે; જેના બીજા નામ ખાખરિયા, ખાકડા, ખાખડો, ખાખર અથવા પલાશ નામથી પણ ઓળખવામાં આવે છે. ઘાટાં કેસરી રંગના ફૂલોથી લદાયેલાં કેસૂડાંનાં ઝાડ જંગલમાં જાણે આગ લાગી હોય તેવું દ્રશ્ય સર્જે છે, તેથી અંગ્રેજીમાં તેને ‘ફ્લેમ ઓફ ધ ફોરેસ્ટ’ પણ કહે છે. કેસૂડાનાં ફૂલોને પાણીમાં પલાળી રાખવાથી સરસ કેસરી રંગનું પાણી બને છે, જેનાથી હોળી રમવામાં આવે છે, આ નેચરલ હર્બથી ત્વચાના વિકારો દૂર થાય છે અને શરીરને શીતળતા પણ બક્ષે છે, ત્યારે આવો આપણે આ કેસુડાં (ખાખરા) ના ઝાડથી વધુ પરિચિત થઈએ.. .
