@Urbex ~ Never Mind The Pollock's Here's The Hoarder House
"Never Mind The Pollock's Here's The Hoarder House" is a work of digital living art, of life after death, abstract expressionism!... Look passively & try to receive what the property has to offer & do not bring any preconceived idea's of what you are looking for";) Yes this explore was also, just full on/off the wall NUTS!!! Conceptual Art ~ Number 81156,10:15 pm It would have been crazy to risk venturing any deeper into the depth's of this ocean, awash with the flotsam & jetsam of another lifetime lived, certainly creatively & lovingly, & i hope, of a happy & full life! It appears the lady of the house outlived her husband & kept herself busy with her arts & crafts & community work, she most definitely ended her last day's, living there on the ground floor & all the first floor rooms just became a useful space for storage. She probably had children/grandchildren visit & made sure they didn't get bored, she also loved her animals, but mostly though i learn't little about her, or her late husband, of whom she outlived, but given more time there, i'm sure there's lot's of memories buried among the mountain of possessions, slowly being lost to time, as the house is gradually consumed by nature & the natural microbiology of decay, as it claims itself yet another house & it's memories lost within, joined again in death, unto the souls they rightly belong! & the cycle of life begins anew. So "Who the #$&% Was Pollock"?...you may well ask! Paul Jackson Pollock! come to that, who the #$&% Is Jamie Reid? Paul Jackson Pollock (January 28, 1912 – August 11, 1956), known as Jackson Pollock, was an influential American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He was well known for his unique style of drip painting. During his lifetime, Pollock enjoyed considerable fame and notoriety, a major artist of his generation. Regarded as reclusive, he had a volatile personality, and struggled with alcoholism for most of his life. In 1945, he married the artist Lee Krasner, who became an important influence on his career and on his legacy. Pollock died at the age of 44 in an alcohol-related, single-car accident; he was driving. In December 1956, several months after his death, Pollock was given a memorial retrospective exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York City. A larger, more comprehensive exhibition of his work was held there in 1967. In 1998 and 1999, his work was honored with large-scale retrospective exhibitions at MoMA and at The Tate in London, England. In 2000, Pollock was the subject of the film Pollock, directed by and starring Ed Harris, which won an Academy Award. Never Mind The Bollocks, Here’s Jamie Reid Even if you haven’t studied at art school, without realizing you’ll recognize the work of Jamie Reid. Without doubt, Jamie Reid is the man credited with creating the punk aesthetic. His work, featuring letters cut from newspaper headlines in the style of a ransom note defines the image of ‘punk’. When he took a Cecil Beaton silver jubilee portrait of the queen and superimposed a safety pin through her bottom lip, he created one of the most iconic pop cultural images of the late 20th Century. And the sleeve he created for the Sex Pistols “Never Mind The Bollocks” album has been voted the second greatest album cover of all time by Rolling Stone magazine (pipped to the post by The Beatles ‘”Sgt Pepper”). Born January 16th 1947 Croydon, England. Educated at John Ruskin Grammar School, Croydon Best known works: Sex Pistols album “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols” (1977) and singles “Anarchy in the UK” (1976), “God Save The Queen” (1977), “Pretty Vacant” (1977) and “Holidays in the Sun” (1977). Other less random thoughts: Sadly the rest of the day was clouded with thoughts for all those innocent victims, murdered, maimed, of families left grieving their loved one's, by yet another atrocity from those misguided radicalized religious extremists, with corrupted wahhibi beliefs! News of the Cowardly Terrorist's Attack in Brussels, was broken to me on the train journey home, by the days newspaper discarded on my carriage's table....Reality Sucks :( I guess i find one aspect of urbex that is so addictive, is it consumes every sense, every thought, allowing one a form of escape from this world, briefly lost in the moment, a bubble of less tyranny & a more peaceful space. "Follow your spirit, and upon this charge Cry 'God for Harry, England, and Saint George!'" Thank you for your time....Peace!
