Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil WILL clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Raees, confirms director Sanjay Gupta! Shah Rukh Khan's Raees was supposed to clash with Salman Khan's Sultan this Eid. However after negotiations, the producers and Shah Rukh postponed their film to January 26, 2017. This meant that Raees would clash with Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil and Ajay Devgn's Baadshaho... The BIG clash on Republic Day is happening… Shah Rukh Khan‘s Raees was supposed to clash with Salman Khan’s Sultan this Eid. However after negotiations, producers Farhan Akhtar-Ritesh Sidhwani and Shah Rukh postponed their film to January 26, 2017. This meant that Raees would clash with Hrithik Roshan’s Kaabil and Ajay Devgn’s Baadshaho. The latter backed out yesterday and announced that they would now release on May 12, 2017. However, there was no clarity about Kaabil and Raees‘ clash. But today Sanjay Gupta confirmed that the clash is on. As Sanjay tweeted, “Dear All, KAABIL releases on Jan 26, 2017. Absolutely no change in date. Hope this clears all unnecessary rumours. Warm regards.” Reports of Kaabil shifting their date started doing the rounds after Baadshaho backed out. And after Shah Rukh Khan revealed during his Eid meet-and-greet that talks with the makers of Kaabil are on, these reports gained more momentum. SRK had said, “We have discussed with Hrithik forKaabil (to move). So we will release on January 25 or 26, 2017. We have spoken to Hrithik a month back and because their film has just started, it can be possible. Rakesh ji, Hrithik, Farhan and Ritesh are talking are going to meet soon to figure out a way that we don’t clash.” With this tweet, looks like the Kaabil makers aren’t willing to move. Last time two BIG films clashed at the box office (Bajirao Mastani and Dilwale) both the films did make money. Trade experts did say that two films can survive even after clashing. However, the openings of both the films were affected. And with producer of Kaabil, Rakesh Roshan being sensible, he might try negotiating and we will know about the fate pretty soon.
