So, we will have a name and a mark in the market, and we work on this principle because there is quality in the product, I mean is nothing hinders us”. 26. Various of sweets dishes ready and packaged. STORYLINE: More than seven years into Syria's civil war, many Syrian refugees are still living in Jordan, and no immediate solution to the Syrian crisis. Many of Syrian refugees are determined to create a new life for themselves and their family in Jordan by trying to find jobs and engage into Jordanian labor market. At the International Labor Organization (ILO), the Syrian Refugee Response Program in Jordan is trying to create jobs for Syrians and multiple projects to facilitate Syrian access to the labor market and help Jordanians to find jobs as well. The response program established about 38 Jordanian-Syrian joint projects, and the program provided technical support on how to manage joint projects and give them simple financial support and follow-up as well. One of the projects that was established Eastern sweets industry project, which includes 6 Jordanian and Syrian partner. They were trained in one of the sweets shops in Irbid, and then underwent training at ILO on how to manage small projects, in addition to providing technical and financial support and linking them with marketing channels for their product. One of difficulties facing the project, the problem of marketing, because has recently entered the labor market, also they don’t have brand like other shops of sweets. The goal of the project is to connect Syrian and Jordanian with a joint project, to benefit from the advantages of each one, and to try to integrate Syrians into local communities.
