Education Development in Bangladesh A Journey with TAFE NSW, Australia Quality in Higher Education বাংলা একাডেমি অস্ট্রেলিয়া www.banglaacademy.com/cms Seminar report: Bangla Academy Australia began its journey with the hopes and dreams of contributing to the aspiring development of Bangladesh, as explained by director Anwar Akash on the welcoming speech of the seminar entitled "Education Development in Bangladesh: A Journey with TAFE NSW, Australia ". This seminar was one of the many initiatives taken by the academy to help create a strong ground for the potential human resources of the country. In return, the groomed leaders would actively contribute in the progressive development of the country from various fields. Keeping this notion as an integral part of the venture, Mr. Elizar Franco, Education Manager of the State of NSW Govt. Department of Education & Training, brought about a proposal to work in coalition with the Department of Education of the Bangladesh Government. He provided an intuitive presentation on the various kinds of vocational training that TAFE NSW, Australia has to offer for all human resources. He gave a full fledged description of the potential job opportunities that such specified skill trainings are likely to open up for the Bangladeshi population in Australia. As an added advantage, TAFE NSW would provide institutional facilities and training in the grounds of Bangladesh so that skilled manpower can be supported for potential migration to Australia. Mr. Franco discussed this highly potential venture before a panel of honoraries which included Dr. Manzoor Ahmed, Professor Nazrul Islam, Rasheda K. Chowdhury, and Professor Shafi Ahmed among others. Such a distinguished panel helped to provide a substantial feedback that not only helped to analyze the prospect of the venture in Bangladesh, but also suggested ways to improvise the implementation process keeping the present conditions and culture of Bangladesh in perspective. The seminar was concluded with an inspirational attempt by Bangla Academy Australia in supporting a potential future leader of Bangladesh, Shatabdi, a student of the Bangla Department in Dhaka University. Even though disadvantaged in life, she still proves to be a great inspiration to many others like her who have the courage to stand up and face the world. Bangla Academy Australia is in a constant search for such bold leaders of the future and ever ready to support them and in turn help to create a better Bangladesh.
