Access Research Network's video: How Darwinists Think - Lecture and Q A

@How Darwinists Think - Lecture and Q&A
Friends of ARN have been asking for more recent lecture videos from Phillip Johnson. Others have asked how Professor Johnson has been doing since his stroke several years ago, and if he is still doing public lectures. Now you can find out for yourself by watching this lecture presented by Phillip Johnson before a large audience of students, faculty members, and community people at Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. Phillip Johnson explains that it is the thinking of evolutionists that gets them into difficulty. He works to open up the issue and allow light to flow in. In this lecture, Johnson begins with the Darwinian high-water mark: the 1959 centennial celebration of the publication of Charles Darwin's The Origin of Species. He describes some of the experiments and findings of the 1950s and how they led Darwinists to a sense of triumph, not just over science, but over our whole understanding of the world. Johnson then shows how supposed evidence for evolution has fallen into question and other concerns have arisen so that the triumphalism of 1959 has been reversed and the Darwinists are now on the defensive. Johnson informs the audience that his lecture is simply to set the stage for a 45 minute Question and Answer session that follows. Some of the questions that Johnson addresses from the audience include: Doesn't Stephen J. Gould's theory of punctuated equilibrium address some of the short comings of Darwinian evolution? Isn't evolution still occurring on the Galapagos Islands? Aren't Mendel's pea plants examples of evolution? What evidence would convince you that evolution was true? Please define the terms complexity and information and explain why they are important. How do you explain speciation and adaptation from an Intelligent Design position? Isn't the evidence from anthropology that shows the changes in humanoid skulls over the past five centuries evidence for evolution? How would you empirically test Intelligent Design? Isn't archaeopteryx evidence for evolution? What are the ethical implications of Intelligent Design and Darwinism?
