More than 3 years of research (sifting all the old files, listening to old DAT tapes and recovering old hard drives) and remasterings are over and I am so incredibly happy to be able to present my final release of the remasters series: my album "Missing Links" that again features lot's of formerly unreleased tracks and songs that have never been published in full length before. Because they were previously either just snippets “in the mix” on the very successful CD compilations of Sony/BMG or never released in their respective versions. Now available in full length - and of course in the best 2021 state-of-the-art sound! This journey started for Marlon Juers (aka Accuface) in 2018 when he got fed up with the fact that all his Accuface tracks were floating around the internet pretty much uncontrolled after Tunnel Records decided to close down. "Not only didn't I get paid at all but also the quality of those tracks was sometimes really bad. Some of them sounded as if they were uploaded to the distributer already as bad quality Mp3 files. So I decided to trigger a take-down of all my tracks. This whole process alone took almost six months. there were always still tracks online that kind of "slipped through". Meanwhile Marlon started remastering all versions from their respective original tapes. A process that could take up to two hours per mix depending on the song. Now the Accuface fan can find around 160 freshly remastered songs and mixes in the stores and streaming services worldwide - all in high quality 24 bit. On "Missing Links" there are of songs that never saw the light of day in full length such as the old school trancy "Ability to fold Space" from DJ Networx Vol. 6 (2000), the party track "9 o'clock (we gotta go to Work)" from TTF Vol. 22 (2002) or even the harder styled "Frequency of the Nation" from DJ Networx Vol 3. (1999). As it is for every song also there's a story behind this particular one: "The DJ Networx was still pretty new. Sony wanted to established this one for harder dance stuff (as opposed to the TTF). So I created this song using one of my most favorite techno sounds: the "Hoover". If you listen closely you can hear little timing glitches during the song. Everything was hardware based back in the days and I just had one sampler (Ensoniq ASR 10 fully equipped with 16 MB Ram). That machine was really struggling since I demanded a lot of work from it. The surface of this sampler sometimes got so hot I could have fried eggs on it.", Marlon remembers laughing. Alongside the more known Accuface tracks there are also some completely unreleased songs on "Missing Links". For instance "Blow my Mind". "This track actually is the reason why there's no Accuface track on TTF Vol. 5. "I created it exclusively for that release in 1998. Tunnel rejected it. They said: 'Sorry, but it is starting with a breakbeat. DJ Dean can't mix that'. So instead I created the 'Space is the Place' which was featured on the next TTF Vol. 6. 'Blow my Mind' has always been one of my personal favorites and I'm so glad I could finally release it now." Also 'Dream (within a Dream)'. I was obviously very inspired by Robert Miles' 'Children'. I created it while I was preparing my new single. One week after 'Dream' I wrote and produced 'Hightechflash' which obviously became THE track - and I forgot the other song. Some side-information for the 'studio geeks': 'Dream' features a real Roland TB 303 (Acid part) and a TR 909 (hi-hats and snare)", Marlon explains. "Missing Links" by Accuface is OUT NOW in all download shops and streaming services via the label Metrophonic Resistance.
