How to make fire starters at home from only two components including the egg carton. These easy homemade fire starters are quick to make, cheap and effective. Such DIY survival or camping fire starters are much more convenient than newspaper or dry leaves. No paraffin wax. No molds. It's a great way to recycle old cardboard egg cartons, too. While not necessary, paper, other bits of cardboard, wood shavings, etc. can be used as filling if available. Note: these fire lighters can be a little greasy when the weather is warm. They're best stored in a container in a cool place.
