"İhtiyar Kurtlar izle" 1877-1878 Osmanlı-Rus Savaşı'nda, Pleven cephesinde birlikte savaşan dört gazinin, Pleven'de bir baskında komutanlarına şehit verdikleri bilinmektedir. Yıllar sonra, 1915 Çanakkale Savaşı'nda, aynı ismi taşıyan komutanın yeğeni olan Yüzbaşı Yusuf'un esir alındığını duyarlar. Dört yaşlı adam ve bir engelli genç adam, esir kurtarma operasyonunu üstlenirler.
