Due to the outbreak of SARS-Cov-2, many airlines in Europe and all over the world suffer from extreme low utilization of their aircraft and travel restictions. As a result, a lot of airlines are cutting their seat capacities by 70, 80 or even 90%. Some airlines like Brussels, LOT, Airbaltic and Austrian already have temporairly suspended all of their flights. And we think many others will follow. There are also a lot of retirements right now: KLM will retire their 747 a year early in just 9 days, Delta and American are also going to retire their 767 sooner than originally planned. On March 4, 2020 FlyBe had to file for insolvency, one of the reasons was also the Corona outbreak. Being at th moment the only one who had to file for insolvency, there are many airlines already in financial struggle and the Corona outbreak will make it even worse. Also big players in the industry like Germany's flag carrier Lufthansa announced it will use financial support by the German government. At the moment we only can hope that all airlines will make it through this pandemic.
