“Maintained an air of unflappable poise” STRINGS MAGAZINE (2018 Carnegie Hall debut) Aisha has been described by the press in three continents as a “virtuoso” (Lietuvos Rytas in Lithuania, Frankfurter Neue Presse in Germany, Time Out Magazine and The National in the UAE, LokalNachrichten in Bern, Switzerland, Correio Braziliense in Brasil), a “deeply gifted artist” (Ft. Lauderdale Connex in Florida) and “one of the youngest and most talented ambassadors of the violin in the world” (Live Out Loud Magazine in Los Angeles, California). Aged eleven Aisha made her debut performing the Bruch violin concerto in g minor with the Dominican Symphony Orchestra becoming the youngest ever Dominican to have performed with the orchestra. She became the first latina to attend the child prodigy Yehudi Menuhin School in England where she also studied at the Royal College of Music with a full scholarship by the Soirée d’Or committee. She was also offered a full scholarship at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Aisha Syed has won numerous awards including 5 Premio soberano Awards in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2019 as Best Classical Artist Abroad, the Casandra Award 2009 as Best Classical Artist Abroad, the Latin Pride National Award as Youth Ambassador for Latinos in the US, the Game Changer Award by the Keep Walking worldwide campaign and many others. She has also performed in BBC Radio 3 In Tune and was made Honorary Cultural Goodwill Ambassador by the Dominican Republic Government. In 2014 she was made the youngest ever Honorary Professor of the Arts Faculty at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo, founded in 1538. In May 2015 she became along with conductor Gustavo Dudamel an Ambassador for LEALA, an organization founded to promote the Spanish language and Latin American culture in the Los Angeles area. In 2010 she co-founded in the Dominican Republic the Music for Life Foundation, which seeks to bring classical music to those whom for social, economic, or health reasons cannot access it. The violins she performs on are an extraordinary Long Pattern Stradivarius and an Antonius Pelizon violin both kindly provided by Florian Leonhard Fine Violins. Aisha is currently on tour and has been performing in Europe, Latin America, the United States and the Middle East. Recent engagements include the Tchaikovsky concerto at the Palau de les Arts with Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana, a certified sold-out recital at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall, a recital at the Royal Opera House of Mumbai invited by the Mehli Mehta Foundation, the Tchaikovsky violin concerto at the National Auditorium in Uruguay among other performances.
