Some of "Asian Bradman" career milestones: 1- First batsman to score hundreds in three successive ODI innings and five successive international innings. 2- Was among the top five run-scorers at the time of retirement. Zaheer Abbas's 2572 ODI runs at an average of 47.62 were the fifth highest for any batsman at the time of his retirement. He was also joint second on the list of most hundreds in the format at the time, with seven centuries, only behind Viv Richards and Desmond Haynes. 3- Best batting average and strike in ODI at the time of retirement. 4- Most runs by any batter in a four-match bilateral ODI series. 5- First Pakistan batter to 4000 and 5000 runs in Tests. 6- First Asian batter to score 100 first-class centuries. 7- The only player to have scored a century and a double century in a first-class match four times. He remained unbeaten in all eight innings, making this one of the most outstanding feats in first-class cricket. 8- Zaheer scored 583 runs in a three-test series. His record stood for decades. 9- Zaheer scored 274 in his second test match (vs England, in England) Zaheer possessed wonderful skills against spin and medium-pace bowling. Zaheer was one of Pakistan's finest batters against spin bowling. He could play off the front foot and back foot and would surprise the bowler by coming down the wicket as well. Anything outside the off stump was dispatched summarily to the offside. Zaheer Abbas, or 'Zed', was all class and finesse, featuring without question in any conversation about stylish batsmen. His runs came at a quick tempo and the bespectacled batsman dominated bowlers without ever needing brute force. A prolific run-scorer in the 1980s, he also captained Pakistan in 14 Tests and 13 ODIs, earning himself the nickname 'Asian Bradman' along the way.
