Akancha Srivastava's video: TEACH GOOD INTERNET HABITS TO CHILDREN AAH

@TEACH GOOD INTERNET HABITS TO CHILDREN! #AAH
TEACH GOOD INTERNET HABITS TO CHILDREN! 3 important starting points on this topic: • You just can’t deprive children of internet • Technology is wonderful • Children learn from imitation & curiosity FIRSTLY- BUILD TRUST Don’t try to control but rather try ‘inclusion’ in your child’s activity. Spend time together on the internet to identify your children’s interests. Learn about games they play, videos they watch, show them that you would like to genuinely know more. We can’t brush things under the carpet. Children are so scared to speak to their own parents when things go wrong cos we don’t talk to them like their confidantes In overwhelming sexual assaults against minors, the offender is known to the victim- Means neighbor/ relative/ shop keeper/ trainer…. it’s an extension of trust. Educate them on good touch bad touch online If they feel uncomfortable by any conversation even if it’s by an elder- trust to tell you SECONDLY, if possible please keep their machine in a place at home so that you can keep a watch on screen. When you are walking by, you can notice whom they are speaking with, what they are doing. You don’t know if they are sweet talked by any predator Remember that good children make bad choices at times. THIRDLY No tech time as a family. Children learn via curiosity & imitation its very important that you need to spend little bit of no technology time together. It’s extremely important for emotional health. If you are glued to technology then they will be too. Children learn with imitation. Teach them moderation with your own behavior. Lastly, teach children what good they can do with technology- You tube, free books, hobbies, music. Please do watch the video for comprehensive safety tips. Stay Aware, Stay Safe.
