Job Fraud Alert! There are many job frauds happening online right now. People have lost money, been disappointed, become victims of false promises. This video warns you of such job frauds by following safety tips. There’s a lot of uncertainty in the air currently, many companies are letting go of employees and so there is a spike in job searches. When filling any job requirements look for these red flags: - 1. Too many personal details like bank account details requested? 2. Are you careful about not sharing addresses, pictures until sure of the employer details? 3. Beware of any company postings that ask you to pay money to apply 4. Don't respond to unsolicited emails: Always keep a note of where you’ve applied for the job. Do not respond to any generic emails from an unknown company, as it could be a scam. 5. Fake Government Jobs: Always check the website of the Government organizations for details about the job openings in a Government department. All Government organizations always advertise vacancies in the leading newspapers. 6. Check for Spelling mistakes: Always look for the spelling errors in the e-mail address and job descriptions. If an email has spelling, grammatical and punctuation errors, it could be a scam. The email address looks similar to the actual company. Examples of suspicious addresses include "info@company.net" instead of "info@company.com" and misspelled company names like "info@companie.com" or "info@compaany.com" 7. The pay is too good to be true: If you are hunting for a job, you probably have a good idea what the average salary is for your job and experience level. If you find a job posting that lists that position for two or three times the typical salary, be wary. Even if a company wants to get the best of the best, it can probably do so by beating the competition's salary by a small margin. Paying double the going rate is bad business and not likely to happen. You've heard it before — if it looks too good to be true, it probably is. 8. Don’t share your bank account numbers, credit card details 9. Protect/ limit sharing personal information 10. Avoid sharing excessive family details 11. Do not reveal personal vulnerabilities personal health concerns 12. These should be shared at interview, as needed 13. Rather than clicking a link sent to your email, research the company independently 14.
