Since meaty throws aren't a thing in this game it's a bad idea to commit to a throw on Nier's wakeup. Instead if you bait her DP out and block it you don't have to respect any of the cancels she can do, it's not a true blockstring or frametrap. In fact if the Nier player tries to chain into a different Death special they'll just make it worse for themselves because you will hit a Fatal Counter. Hope this advice helps you.
