A Marrequinha-comum (Anas crecca) é uma ave aquática, da família Anatidae. Mede cerca de 34-38 cm de comprimento e 53-59 cm de envergadura. Ambos os sexos possuem um espelho verde e uma barra branca no centro da face superior das asas. O macho apresenta a cabeça castanho-avelã, com faixas laterais verdes delineadas a amarelo; o peito creme malhado; o corpo cinzento com uma listra branca horizontal; e as laterais da parte traseira amarelo-pálidas, orladas a preto. A plumagem da fêmea caracteriza-se pelo castanho malhado. Este pato de superfície é invernante e pode ser observado no Algarve sobretudo de Setembro a Março. Habita em zonas húmidas com vegetação abundante.
