The Trail to ‘Devil’s Staircase’ – යක්ෂයාගේ පියගැටපෙළ ඔස්සේ ඔහියට The famous scenic ride from Kalupahana to Ohiya was one I wanted to do for a while and as usual this was decided within few months. As we planned we ride our bikes from our homes. We had 8 bikes and 15 participants. We did not expect much difficult roads. We hoped that we can ride our bike with two person on it. It was not possible on that road. Mayakaduwa is located 4km’s from Kalupahana so we had 20 more Km’s to get to Ohiya. We came 3-4 Km under mist and had a few minute rain which ruined our journey. After that we all participants needed to finish as soon as possible. One of the place on the road have repaired by someone and became mud pit. On that point we had to spent more than hour to rescue our bikes. Do not try with two person on the bike or if you travelling on four wheel drive you have to be prepaid well.
