@Flushing Meadows Corona Park - New York City
Flushing Meadows Corona Park, often referred to as Flushing Meadows Park, or simply Flushing Meadows, is a public park in the northern part of Queens, New York City. The Park is the fourth-largest public park in New York City, with a total area of 897 acres. The park attractions are Unisphere, a spherical stainless steel representation of Earth. The globe was designed by Gilmore D. Clarke as part of his plan for the 1964 New York World's Fair. Mist garden is a great attraction for kids to run around to get engulfed in mist. Also there is a zoo for children. A section of zoo captured shows sheep enclosure. A few very attractive sculptures are a) Rocket Thrower, a 1963 bronze sculpture by American sculptor Donald De Lue and b) Freedom of the Human Spirit, a massive bronze statue depicting a male and a female with wild swans soaring skyward, was sculpted by Marshall Fredericks (1908–1998) for the New York World’s Fair of 1964-65.
