@Evangelist Alveda King: Seeking the Beloved Community
www.alvedaking.com I was just on a WH call with a bi-partisan African American stakeholders call with VP and WH senior staffers. Due to high levels of hypertension, diabetes and other underlying factors, Blacks seem more susceptible to COVID19. POTUS is addressing these factors. A bi-partisan effort is needed. In a 1957 speech, Birth of A New Nation, The Prophet Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “The aftermath of nonviolence is the creation of the beloved community. The aftermath of nonviolence is redemption. ... Only through nonviolence can this goal be attained, for the aftermath of nonviolence is reconciliation and the creation of the Beloved Community.” There is room at the BELOVED COMMUNITY TABLE for everyone! Dr. Martin Luther King popularized the notion of the “Beloved Community.” King envisioned the Beloved Community as a society based on justice, equal opportunity, and love of one's fellow human beings. ... Dr. King's Beloved Community is a global vision in which all people can share in the wealth of the earth. My friends this is not the time to be like the brother of the prodigal son; and this is not the time to be like Sarah, Isaac's mother, who was angry about Ishmael. The Parable of the Prodigal Son, also known as the parable of the Two Brothers, Lost Son, Loving Father or Forgiving Father, is one of the parables of Jesus in the Bible and appears in Luke 15:11–32. Jesus shares it with his disciples, the Pharisees and others. During Sarah’s lifetime, Abraham had two sons, Isaac and Ishmael. Son of the maidservant Hagar, Ishmael was the firstborn and is considered to be the father of the Arabic nations. Yet Isaac was chosen to carry on Abraham’s legacy. Banished from his father’s home, Ishmael had his ups and downs, but ultimately he repented and was considered righteous. After Sarah’s death, Abraham married Ketura. She was a concubine and wife of the Biblical patriarch Abraham. According to the Book of Genesis, Abraham married Keturah after the death of his first wife, Sarah. Abraham and Keturah had six sons. One modern commentator on the Hebrew Bible has called Keturah "the most ignored significant person in the Torah". GOD loved and blessed all of Abraham’s sons. This is the time to remember that God is a merciful God the sun shines on the just and the unjust. God loves us all. As America we must come together and agree with President Trump to help keep America great and help America be healed regardless of political games struggles and differences. Many of us have been conservatives for years. Some are just waking up. Let’s welcome our brothers and sisters to the table. “...Son, you don’t understand. You’re with me all the time, and everything that is mine is yours—but this is a wonderful time, and we had to celebrate. This brother of yours was dead, and he’s alive! He was lost, and he’s found!” – Luke‬ ‭15:31-32‬ ‭MSG‬‬ Today, let’s continue to come together at the Beloved Community table. Let’s see the life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for every womb; for every life; every situation; every community; every family. Let’s see life from the womb to the tomb learn to love each other. GOD BLESS AMERICA!
