Church In The Woods (with John Spike Explores). This church is located in a remote wilderness area. It dates back to the late 1800's and was originally located further down the road where a town used to be. The town had the church, a school, and houses where the people lived. At some point the town ceased to exist for unknown reasons. The church was rebuilt in its present location in 1975 by a man who would serve as pastor for twelve years until his death, and other friends and family members. The church has no electric or water utilities. It has a water fountain outside that is connected to a pump designed by the Romans and draws from a nearby creek. The church is active and has services several times each month along with an annual revival and homecoming. These services are at night and the sanctuary is lit with oil lamps on lamp stands along the walls. Come join John Spike Explores and I as we check out this little gem in the wilderness!
