American Explorer🥕🐴's video: Abandoned Time Capsule 1800 s Home with Everything Left Behind

@Abandoned Time Capsule! 1800's Home with Everything Left Behind!
Abandoned Time Capsule! 1800's Home with Everything Left Behind! This abandoned place is what is known as an I-House, so called because it's shaped like the letter "I". There are add-ons to this one which is why it no longer has the "I" shape. It is an old plantation home that I believe was the original house built on what was once a large plantation. I believe the larger and more ornate home next door was built later by the original owners as the plantation flourished. The author of an article I read about this home stated county records showed a construction date of 1860. He believed the home to be older than that and I agree. When the construction date is unknown, counties will enter a random date. It seems 1860 and 1890 are the most common dates used to "fill in the blank." What I found inside was a total surprise! Everything was literally left behind as if someone just walked out one day and never returned. The furnishings and appliances were anywhere from about the 1940's through the 1960's or 1970's. I didn't see it at the time, but the brand name of the stove was under the controls and also on the serial plate. The camera picked them up in both places. It was a Universal, manufactured by Landers, Frary, and Clark in New Britain, Connecticut. The stove featured a built in bean pot. The piano was a York manufactured by the Weaver Piano Company of York, Pennsylvania. The Weaver Piano Company was founded in 1870 as the The Weaver Organ Company, and discontinued manufacturing organs in 1916. The company was one of the few American companies to survive The Great Depression and World War 2 without being absorbed into a larger company. The company was sold to William H. Worrilow, Jr. in 1956, who closed it down in 1959. The piano therefore was made prior to that time. As I stated in the video, I believe the last owner passed away and the heirs didn't care anything about the house, so it was just left leaving a number of antiques and other things that could hold sentimental value. My speculation seemed to be confirmed when I found a notice in the front yard from the local Sheriff's Office stating the property had been seized by the county for delinquent property taxes on June 1, 2021. My hope is when the county sells this abandoned house, whoever buys it will restore this old home rather than demolish it. This is .
