American Eye's video: 10 Most Bizarre Planes In The World

@10 Most Bizarre Planes In The World!
From preventing nuclear attacks in the middle of the sea, to a ridiculous inflatable plane, here are 10 of the biggest unusual planes in the world Subscribe to American Eye http://goo.gl/GBphkv 10: The Bartini-Beriev VVA-14 The Bartini-Beriev VVA-14 is a seriously bizarre aircraft. According to War History Online, it was constructed as part of the arms race during the Cold War. The whole theory behind this aircraft was that it could combat threats from the middle of the sea and thereby prevent nuclear missile strikes. 9: AD-1 Oblique Wing The AD-1 Oblique Wing was an aircraft designed with a sideways wing. Also known as an oblique wing, it was designed to rotate on a center pivot so that it could be set at whichever angle was the most effective for the speed that the airplane was flying. 8: The Flying Tank It seems like a natural thing to combine an airplane with a tank. After all, these are two of the most important fighting machines we have on our planet. And during World War 2, somebody tried to do it. 7: Convair XFY-1 Pogo The Convair XFY-1 Pogo looks like something a child would design. It was one of many attempts after World War Two to create a vertical takeoff and vertical landing combat vehicle. The British did succeed eventually, but before they did the United States experimented with several different configurations. 6: The Real Flying Saucer Believe it or not, the United States Air Force developed a real flying saucer in the 1950s. The aircraft had been codenamed project 1794, and it was developed in conjunction between the USAF and a Canadian company. 5: The Goblin The Goblin was definitely not the biggest unusual aircraft, but it was such a strange idea that it must be mentioned on this list! The proper name for this little vessel was the XF-85 Goblin, and it was the smallest ever jet-propelled fighter. 4: Tacit Blue Experimental Stealth Jet The Tactic Blue Experimental Stealth Jet was part of the HAVE BLUE program from DARPA. It was also the first ever practical combat stealth aircraft. It all began in the early 1970s as a way to somehow develop stealth technology. 3: The X-29 Advanced Aircraft The X-29 has backward wings. That's what makes this aircraft so unusual. Two of these aircrafts were flown at the Dryden Flight Research facility back in the 1980s. This was a time when NASA was investigating an entirely different way of designing aircrafts. 2: The Flying Pancake Taking one look at the flying pancake is enough to know that this ridiculous vehicle is never going to be used in any practical setting. 1: The Inflatoplane The last plane on the list is completely ridiculous. In the 1950s, the United States Army contracted Goodyear to design an aircraft that could be inflated. They wanted to use the aircraft for surveillance and DIY rescue missions.
