Mix well. -Gradually add water and knead into a smooth, firm dough. Make sure the dough is neither too soft nor too hard. -Pound the dough using a pestle to make it more pliable. -Divide the dough into equal portions. -Roll each portion into a very thin circle (thinner than a chapati). -Cut the dough into long strips using a knife. -Heat oil in a deep pan over medium heat. -While the oil heats up, mix black salt and red chili powder in a bowl. -Fry the strips one at a time. As they puff up, flip them to fry evenly. -Fry until golden brown, then remove onto absorbent paper to drain excess oil. -Immediately sprinkle the spice mix over the hot chorafali. -Let the chorafali cool completely before storing it in an airtight container. Serve as a crispy, spicy Diwali snack! Recipe Notes: 1. Roll the dough very thin for perfectly puffed-up chorafali. 2. Fry on medium heat to prevent burning.
