Its is bordered superiorly by the inferior border of the mandible and a line from the angle of the mandible to the mastoid process; posteriorly by the posterior belly of the diagastric; and anterior by the anterior belly of the digastric. In close relation with the posterior belly of the diagstricus is the stylohyoid muscle. The floor of the triangle is formed mostly by the mylohyoid muscle and hyoglossus muscle which pass deep to the mylohyoid.
