It's not especially depressing, but it's not very pleasant either. You remember regrets, start to philosophise about love, hate, religion and so forth, all the while being a tad cynical about it, but also, deep down, hopeful. Which is, of course, the reason you restart your thinking loop again, continuously being both sides in a fruitless, empty argument. But there is also a pleasant something about it. There is peace in contemplating things for no purpose.
