911 Revisited. Lecture by David Ray Griffin at the joint meeting of Muslims, Jews, and Christians United Against Racism and Hatred. The contradictions in the official reporting of 9/11 events are so many that make one re-think the whole incident and remind us of other previous incidents: They say the US government had been informed that an attack by Japan upon Pearl Harbor was imminent, but the officials preferred to maintain silence on the issue. Likewise, in Operation Northwoods, the US intelligence people had put together a plan to attack US ships and military, pretending to be Cuban military forces. Fortunately, the plan was not approved and the senseless killings were avoided. [PLEASE SEE COMMENTS ON CONSPIRACY THEORY AT THE BOTTOM] Other interesting 'coincidents': * Most of the 9/11 hijackers were from Saudi Arabia, America's closest ally. They had all been legally admitted to the United States. * Why weren't the planes shot down by the US fighter jets whose job it is to protect Washington (Whit House, Pentagon, …) air space? If they couldn't shoot down these planes, then how safe are the American people and what's the use of billions spent on defense? * When the attacks were taking place, President Bush was reading a book to school kids. He continued reading the book long after he was told of the hijackings. Unless the Secret Service knew that the President's life was in no danger, they should have immediately taken the President to some unknown location to protect his life, but they didn't. WHAT IS ' CONSPIRACY THEORIST'? After watching this video, some will immediately say the words: conspiracy theorist. It is true that some people attribute anything that happens in the world to some conspiracy, especially on the part of the government. Obviously, that is not correct. However, as citizens of this planet, on a daily basis, we plan things (conspire if you will) to turn life in the direction that benefits us: pay less taxes, earn more money, convince our friends and family to do things that we like or which benefit us, etc. When ordinary people plan things and we point them out, no one accuses us of being conspiracy theorists, but if these acts are planned and/or committed by the rich or some government or members of a think tank to protect the interests of those in power, and we point it out, we are immediately accused of being conspiracy theorists. Obviously, not everything that happens in the world is the result of a conspiracy, but some definitely are. Which ones? Well, for that, we sometimes need to use 'the gray matter' and pick and choose.
