At the heart are tight, dynamic tones that push your amp into tubey breakup without harsh clipping or noticeable compression. SolidGoldFX take a different approach along the lines of their Imperial MKII fuzz, using a retro style enclosure with high quality sliders in place of pots and not just a Tone control but a Contour to boost or cut midrange content. The Commodore is aimed at low to medium gain tones but the Contour also helps transform a classic 'scooped US' voicing to a 'British mid boost' and vice-versa. Combine this power with a whole lotta output and 9-18V operation and the Commodore can really extend the sonic palette of your rig.
