https://www.tapeaudio.com/effects/ As the name implies, TWO is Tape Audio Co’s second offering: a distortion/fuzz that’s sure to compliment the unique fuzz tones of their ONE pedal. In TWO, there are two discrete transistor gain stages that use a hybrid of Germanium and Silicon components for maximum versatility and interactivity. First, the Germanium transistor Pre stage pumps up your instrument signal with its characteristic warmth and drive while silicon clipping diodes provide extra harmonics. This feeds into the second stage which has a Silicon transistor and Germanium diodes. While these lower output diodes due their magic to shave off harsh highs and round out the signal, the gain knob varies the voltage of the Silicon transistor, acting as a master flavor control, changing many elements such as volume, dirt and overall compression. Finally, a master volume lets you feed the right amount of output to your amp or other pedals. As a bonus, internal bias for the Ge transistor lets you really fine tune the feel and output of this lower gain transistor while another trimpot adjust the clipping amount in this first and crucial stage. Just like ONE, TWO is a unique, handmade circuit that includes NOS transistors, caps and resistors and high quality components like solid machined aluminum knobs.
