Animal Equality's video: Banning foie gras in the US: Your questions answered

@Banning foie gras in the US: Your questions answered
Foie gras is one of the cruelest foods in animal agriculture today. A so-called delicacy at many upscale restaurants, many Americans don't know it's made from the diseased livers of force-fed ducks and geese and causes the suffering of 500,000 birds each year. And even though it's considered widely unacceptable, it's still legal in 49 out of 50 states. Because of this, Animal Equality is working strategically state by state in the US towards a nationwide ban. Animal Equality's President and Co-Founder Sharon Núñez sat down with our legal expert Sarah Hanneken to discuss our investigative work on foie gras farms and what can be done legally to stop the practice of force-feeding. Together, they answer vital questions on how animal advocates like you can help animals both locally and nationally. Questions: 7:08 What is foie gras? 8:45 Why is foie gras cruel? 10:25 Does a ban of foie gras include production and sale? 12:13 What was the first country to ban foie gras? 13:00 Where is foie gras produced? 15:15 How popular is foie gras in the US? 15:49 Where is foie gras banned in the United States? 16:09 Is foie gras produced in the US? 20:52 How can can foie gras be made illegal in the US? 22:45 Where is foie gras sold? The success of our campaign depends on your support! Sign the petition to end foie gras in the US at https://animalequality.org/action/foie-gras Support our work at https://animalequality.org/donate
