Spoonbills get their common name because they have spoon-shaped beaks. There are six living spoonbill species found around the world. This video focuses on general spoonbill facts. These birds may come in pink or white and sometimes sport fluffy chest and head feathers. Their babies have spoon-shaped bills that flatten out as they age. Spoonbills eat by wading through the water with their beak open to snap shut as soon as they feel something tasty inside.
