@Barracuda facts: a torpedo-like fish | Animal Fact Files
There are currently around 20 to 30 classified living barracuda species. These fish are found throughout the world's oceans and sea (though they aren't found in the cold waters of the arctic). Barracudas are easily recognized for their slim body shape and menacing appearance. These fish mostly eat other fish but they have a reputation for aggression. While barracudas are able to attack humans, it's generally believed that they aren't as aggressive as stories make them out to be. People even swim with these fish without consequences! That doesn't mean one shouldn't be cautious, but all wildlife should be appreciated with caution.
