The info was gathered from interviews or surveys taken of people who made it to age 100 or more, other wise known as centenarians. Most of them came from blue zones around the world. Blue zones are the regions identified as having the most people aged 100 or over in the world. First, I want to tell you a quick summary about their eating habits: Most of them Never eat until completely full. They Eat the smallest meals of the day in late afternoon or evening. Centenarians Rarely eat red meat and when they do its only small portions. And Most of them drink alcohol every day but in moderation by only drinking about 1-2 glasses per day. Now to the top 5 countdown. The number 5 food ate by 100 year-olds are legumes, specifically named were chick peas, lentils and just beans in general. The 4th food is milk, but not the cow milk most of us are used to, they specifically mentioned goat or sheep’s milk. Coming in at number 3 are vegetables, the most named were squash, greens, mushrooms, sweet potatoes and yams. At is fruit. The most fruit mentioned are papaya, melons, bananas and avocado. And now the number food named by centenarians is fish, the 2 most named were salmon and herring.
